The Alliance for Positive Change #1

REVIVING AN UNDERPERFORMING EVENT

The Alliance for Positive Change (formerly AIDS Service Center NYC) needed help restructuring its Unmask AIDS Fall Gala. Our team of Claudia Zeldin and Joyce Isabelle provided fresh, sound strategies with detailed work plans and coaching for staff and volunteer leadership aimed at taking the event to the next level. Highlights of the evening included masks made by renowned artists which served as centerpieces and auction items; a pro bono Sotheby’s auctioneer; a profitable media connection with NBCUniversal’s Syfy cable channel that led to sponsorship; auction donations; and event host McKenzie Westmore of “Face Off.” From sponsorships to sales of tables, tickets, and journal ads, the gala was a financial success. Most important, the Alliance gained engaged donors and a template for the future.

“At Alliance for Positive Change, we have always strived to find new, innovative ways to engage our program participants, as well as our community of donors, partners, supporters, and volunteers. By engaging with Growth for Good on this event, we were able to raise both resources and visibility for a longer-term impact. The event proved to be both fun and inspirational – while effectively communicating our goals and intended impact – helping us to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic.”
